Action Post: What can be done in order to Eliminate food Insecurity on HBCU campuses?

Food Insecurity on HBCU campuses is constantly going unnoticed.   It is the job of a social worker to transform this problem into a positive outcome. It takes time, hard work, and dedication to make an effective change for the students suffering from food insecurity. There are many things that can be done in order to put an end to this problem. As an emerging social worker I can advocate for the needs of the students suffering from food insecurity, network with different food banks and pantries in the area, and offer snacks during study sessions. Advocating on behalf of the students suffering from food insecurity is a major step in ending this problem. Most of the time students do not like the food offered in the cafĂ© of the university, so they tend to skip meals; this leads to hunger. Passionate post: Food Insecurity

There should not be an issue with food insecurity on college campuses, specifically HBCUs. There is more that the community leaders and college administrators, and the government can offer to the students who need food. This problem should be resolved before students stop attending college because they cannot focus in class, due to hunger and financial issues.   As a student, if I could not afford food while in college, I would seek out resources. If those resources did not offer much support I would start a petition to advocate for students who are suffering from hunger while attending college. I am very passionate about helping others. The food banks and pantries that are offered on some campuses should be available to all campuses, or offered in a nearby location.   These students who are suffering from food insecurity needs help; however, the resources that are available are not being promoted enough for the students to gain access of the resources.   I believ...
